Wedding Photographer Nelson and Michael from Nelson Photography had awesome time shooting the Scottish wedding of Heather and Matthew at The White Room, in St. Augustine, Florida. The day began with Nelson heading out to the beach house where the Bride and her bridal party were getting their hair and makeup done by Karen and her team from Karmel Design Team. As the makeup team finished with the bridal party we got some detail shots of all her emerald green jewels that would tie into the theme of the Scottish Wedding. While Heather was getting ready, Matthew and his groomsmen were at another location with Michael getting into their traditional kilts in Matthew tartan clan colors.
Once Heather was ready, she requested to have a first look with her father before she had hers with Matthew. It was such a heartwarming moment to witness, along with her mother and sister, to see her father look at his little girl dressed so beautiful. It just brought happy tears to everyone in the room. Afterwards we headed out to meet with Matthew to staged their first look on the historic back alleys of St. Augustine. It was so amazing to see their faces as they saw each other! From there we captured the Bridal portraits and some intimate shoots before we headed out to the roof top terrace at The White Room for the ceremony! The ceremony was officiated by Paul Cushman. After they said their vow, exchanged rings and drank whiskey from the “Scottish Quaich” they sealed the union with the much-awaited kiss.
As soon as the ceremony concluded we headed inside to the banquet room of The White Room to begin the reception. The room looked fantastic with the all the floral arrangements by Lauren Walloch from Garden Gate Florals and the great Scottish theme items placed throughout the room. The food and drinks were provided by The White Room and the awesome tunes that kept the dance floor full were from Jose from Zouain Entertainment. The yummy cake was created by the Bakery at Publix and decorated by Cali De Armas, who add all those extra special touches. We also want to give special thanks to Julie Swyers, who was the wedding coordinator and made sure everything ran smoothly that day for the couple. Once again Heather and Matthew we want to congratulate you on your big day and thank you for allowing us to share this special moment with you both!
